A section of
the St. Joseph's Pelandok Scout Group, it comprises scouts studying
in St. Joseph's Institution ranging from 13 - 16 years of age. They
go through a wide range of activities, including camps, combined
activities with girl guides, outdoor survival skill trainings and
many more. We hold camps at various locations annually in June,
during which the scouts get to sleep in tents, away from the
comforts of their own homes. Occasionally, we also have Patrol
Outings, in which the scouts within their patrol can interact and
know one another better. Other times, the senior members teach the
junior members knotting, cooking or even communication skills.
Our meetings begin from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm on Fridays, and 8.15 am
to 12.30 pm on Saturdays. We usually have Patrol Meetings on
Fridays, during which the Patrol Leader can settle administrative
work. Trainings, e.g. footdrill, knots, first aid... are mostly done
on Saturdays. Each member in the patrol have posts, such as the
Quartermaster, Treasurer, Scribe, etc. In this way, they can learn
different skills which contribute to their character-building. They
can also rotate the posts among them every year to give them a
chance to try out other responsibilities. |
